Somehow I don't know what to say about this one. To me it feels more like a loose association of ideas than a song. I had been living with the first two lines for about 18 months but couldn't really articulate anything else beyond that, it seemed to be enough and yet, of course, it said everything and nothing. Still, I think that is where you find the heart of the meaning, it is so simple. D

12 YOU ARE MY HEART by DANIEL GOODMAN

You are my heart
How can I live without my heart?
You are my vow
Binding my every thought on you
You are my touch, you are my sight
My centre, my satellite

You are beyond
Far and unknown, my fight and fear
You are beside
My shadow may leave, you never fail
You are my calm, you are my storm
My life transformed

These words that I fall over
Take every breath away
They're more than I could ever know
And I am always changing
Life is a river growing wide
A changing tide
And my hands not falling
No, not falling
Overwhelmed by you
Your words like lightning strike
Inside of me
You are all I have
Now you are here
My guardian angel won't fly away
You are my heart
These echoes in my mind of all that I
Have ever found in you
