A I N T
This song is very deliberately about the promises of God. They bring such
encouragement at the time but we often allow them to be forgotten, to
slip into the past. My prayer is that we would take hold of the things
God has spoken to us, recognise their beauty and live in their light,
despite the pressures of life. I've always wanted to use 'Cathedral' in
a song since I first hear Paul Simon's line 'Cathedral bells trip down
alleyways'. (Is it ok to say that?) Listening to a lot of Lamb at this
point! D.
3 FAINT by DANIEL GOODMAN
What are these things that sleep
And stir within my memory
Deep inside of me?
Like light that skips and plays
So shyly on Cathedral floors,
And soaring walls
And tumbles down from coloured glass
It's beautiful, I know it's faint and beautiful, so beautiful
And
it's you,
Always for you
All that I do,
All that is true
And I'll sing
Always for you
I'll wait on you
I will come through, For you
Though time and age conspire
To separate and tear apart
And break my heart
I know I heard your voice
The promises you made to me, and gave to me
And though I fall beneath it all
It's beautiful, I know it's faint and beautiful, so beautiful
LISTEN
to a sample.
